The Central North Island (CNI) Settlement was a special deal made in 2009. For the first time ever, Māori iwi got to choose which forest lands they wanted back, instead of the government deciding for them.
He Iwi Kainga is the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust's housing strategy, set up in 2019 to help with the housing needs of Ngāti Tūwharetoa whanau.
The Trust provides a number of grants to support our marae operational costs and benefit the people of Tūwharetoa.
