We know renting can be hard. Sometimes you feel like it’s your home but not really your home. Many whānau worry about what happens if they speak up about problems.
That’s why we’re here to help make renting better for everyone.

We give you free help with:
Anyone who rents a home in Taupō or Tūrangi can get our help.
What you need to know:
The service is completely free
You’ll need to sign a form so we can talk to your landlord or property manager on your behalf
You can stop using our service anytime you want
We’ll work with you until your problems are solved

Together we’ll create a plan that shows what needs to happen and who will do what

He Iwi Kainga is the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust's housing strategy, set up in 2019 to help with the housing needs of Ngāti Tūwharetoa whanau.
The Trust provides a number of grants to support our marae operational costs and benefit the people of Tūwharetoa.
