Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust is the Post-Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE) that manages the financial and whenua resources returned to Ngāti Tūwharetoa in the Central North Island Forests Iwi Collective settlement.
Approved by Ngāti Tūwharetoa, the Trust was established on 1 July 2009, and has been operating for the benefit of Ngāti Tūwharetoa ever since.

We are the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust. We look after the money and land that was returned to Ngāti Tūwharetoa people through a special agreement with the government.

Our Main Goals
He Iwi Kāinga is an iwi-led housing kaupapa set up to support our Tūwharetoa people to thrive in their housing aspirations and is supported by the following organisations.
We acknowledge the tools and benefits we are provided.
He Iwi Kainga is the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust's housing strategy, set up in 2019 to help with the housing needs of Ngāti Tūwharetoa whanau.
The Trust provides a number of grants to support our marae operational costs and benefit the people of Tūwharetoa.
