He Iwi Kāinga is the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust’s housing strategy, set up in 2019 to help with the housing needs of Ngāti Tūwharetoa whānau.
After talking to our people, we found there is a real need for more Affordable, Safe, Healthy, and Accessible homes for our whānau.
He Iwi Kāinga is a team of our uri working together to support our iwi whānau, following kaupapa Māori values.
We offer services that are designed for our iwi and our way of life.

He Iwi Kāinga helps Tūwharetoa families with their housing needs. We started in 2019 because our people told us they needed help finding homes that are:

Our Belief: Every whānau deserves a stable home for their mana, their tamariki, and future generations.
Our Kaiārahi Kāinga (Housing Guides) work across four main programs:

who provide tools and resources to help us serve our people better.
He Iwi Kāinga is an iwi led housing kaupapa set up to support our Tūwharetoa people to thrive in their housing aspirations and is supported by the following organisations. We acknowledge the tools and benefits we are provided.
He Iwi Kainga is the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust's housing strategy, set up in 2019 to help with the housing needs of Ngāti Tūwharetoa whanau.
The Trust provides a number of grants to support our marae operational costs and benefit the people of Tūwharetoa.
