“Kāinga Tau” means a home where people feel settled, safe and supported. It’s more than just having a roof over your head – its about creating a space where whānau can thrive, feel a sense of belonging and enjoy wellbeing and calm.
Previously called Sustainable Tenancies, Kāinga Tau began as a support programme for whānau at risk of losing their tenancy. It has now expanded to support all whānau in Residential Tenancy.
We know renting can be challenging. It’s your home, but not fully your own, and many whānau worry about the housing crisis or speaking up about issues.
Kāinga Tau is here to make renting better for everyone.
